Breast Cancer awareness month is just around the corner, which means it’s edging up to that time of year again, CIBC’s run for the cure on October 5th, 2014. CIBC’s Run for the cure is our number one charity of choice, and for last two years we have been supporting this amazing cause with our European Goldsmith Team “Bling for Boobies!” …. haha get it! As the majority of our jewellery adorns Kelowna’s beautiful women, we thought it fitting to support this very important cause. We love our clients, we love our bling and we love our boobies!
Last year was our first year at the run, and we had an amazing team, this year we want it to be even bigger and better! If you’re passionate about this cause we want you to join our team! Every team member will get a ‘BLING FOR BOOBIES’ t-shirt and the satisfaction of knowing you’re making a difference! Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women. And it is the second leading cause of death from cancer in Canadian women. Nearly everyone in Canada knows a person who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, whether it is a friend of a friend, a friend, a sister, a mother, a daughter, or a wife. We all know or have known someone who has had to battle with this disease.The Breast Cancer Society of Canada believes that every dollar Canadians donate to breast cancer research brings us one step closer to discovering the cause of breast cancer, better methods to prevent and detect it, treatments that are more effective and improving the quality of life for survivors.

We believe that our donations do make a difference. We want to make a difference, and we know that we can. That’s why we are striving to raise as much money as possible!
Our team members are working towards raising a personal goal of $150 each!- $1.00 of every purchase and $10 from every purchase over $1000 from September 15th to October 31st will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
- For each “Survivor” piece of jewellery sold, we at European Goldsmith will donate 5% of the purchase price, along with the manufacturers donation of 5%!
- AND, as well as anyone who purchases jewellery over $250 will be entered to win a 10K pink gold and Canadian diamond pink ribbon pendant valued at $250.00!

BREAST CANCER STATISTICS
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women and its cause is unknown. We truly believe that every dollar Canadians donate to research brings us one step closer to discovering the causes of breast cancer, better methods to prevent and detect it, treatments that are more effective and improving the quality of life for survivors.
In 2014,
…an estimated 24, 400 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 5,000 will die from it.
…approximately 67 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer every day
…approximately 14 Canadian women will die of breast cancer every day
…1 in 9 women is expected to develop breast cancer during her lifetime (age 90) and 1 in 29 will die from it.
…it is expected that 210 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 60 will die from it.
